Rachel Baek and I will be doing a group presentation, where we will create a motivational quote screen machine!
Using the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), we will connect the LCD to the I2C interface with the Huzzah microcontroller. I found the sample code for Adafruit Liquid Crystal. I had to install the file from the arduino library. Down below is the code for the LCD working with the Huzzah.
We will be using the code from github for the wifi connection and interlace it with the code for the LCD. Finally where the Javascript comes in hand. Down below shows the code I found :A push button that activates a JavaScript when it is clicked. Our ideas is to have a week schedule of buttons, labeled from Monday-Sunday. Each button pressed sends an inspirational quote, which will be broadcasted on the LCD.
Now the design for the product will be something simple but bright and happy, coinciding with the inspiration of it all. The interaction will be through the computer, but the design will be with the LCD. To be honest, we are still working on the design concept. We will be updating you guys with videos on how everything works out this weekend.
